JC Etheredge

It was JC Etheredge's month long tribute to Black History month last year that inspired this months tripple treat Q&A's. So, who better to kick it off with? JC sports a libido larger than life and swings a pencil to match. The very talented creator of Anti-Heroes gives us his goods in this week's Jezz Loads.

JC ETHEREDGE: An Insight

Favorite Guilty Pleasure:
"Clean answer: McDonalds. Dirty Asnwer: A B.J. to completion while watching 4 different pornos at once."

Do you have any other talents outside of art and writing?
"Um. No not really. I used to be really good at Street Fighter Alp
ha 2. Um...I pork good. Oh, I never forget a face. It's kinda sick."

Which living person do you most admire?
"I have a ton of respect for Patrick Fillion. I credit him for my coming to terms with what I do with my own art. In this country, we are raised to be so ashamed of porn consumption. For a long time, I was embarrassed about my erotic artwork. By est
ablishing Class Comics, Patrick has really legitimized what we do. Many of us take what we do quite seriously and work very hard, so it's good to finally be out and proud about it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't shout "I'm a pornographer!" from the rooftops. But it is nice to have a big lump in my throat when I say "I do gay erotic illustration."

What single super power would you like to have?

"Mental powers. Specifically hypnotic suggestion."

What would you use it for?

"Let me preface this by stating that I'm a pervert and I do p
orn art, so this shouldn't come as a surprise. But yea, I'd screw anyone and everyone I wanted, duh!
Is that rape? OK I guess I'd only do the ones who secretly wanted to do me and I'd use the powers to pry this information from their heads."

How old were you when you came out
?

"To myself - 10. To my friends - 18. To my folks - 25."

How would you like to be remembered if you died tom
orrow?
"OMG! Heavy, dude! Um...I'd just want people to know that I was a nice, friendly dude. But if I died tomorrow, it'd be foul play and I'd want people to AVENGE ME!"

JC ETHEREDGE: Art

Who were/are some of the biggest influences on your artistic style?

"Charles Schultz, Tom of Finland. Marc Silversti, Jim Lee, Eday
an (a capcom artist)."

What is your favorite part about drawing?
"I like that it's the product of my vivid imagination. I fantasize all day. I'm almost never thinking about the real world. I like that drawing and art tranports me
to a fantasy world. The act of getting it on paper sorta actualizes those fantasies so they're no longer just deviant thoughts in my head."

Which part about drawing do you like the least?
"I'm not as good as I want to be. Sometimes I just can't draw what I see in my head. It's very frustrating, but I get by. And I'm constantly practicing and
studying and learning. (Also, the fact that I can't screw my characters.)"

Is there anything you don't like to draw?

"Backgrounds."

Which of your characters is most like you?
"I like to think that they are each facets of me. Caleb is sense of responsibility and drive. Tai is my playful, juvenile side. Zeke represents my vanity and over-active libido."

What projects are you currently working on?
"Too many! Right now I'm trying to get Anti-Heroes: Boot Ca
mp (my online video game) up and running. In between that, I'm getting all the drawings for Persuasions Phase 2 (my erotic web-soap opera) wrapped up. It's a huuuuuge update to the series and I'm trying out a lot of new artistic techniques for these pieces. I'm also working on Queer Fap Fantasy, which will be a new section of my site as well as a DIY printed zine of illustration and prose. Backburner projects right now are Anti-Heroes #4 (which will have the most awesome gimmick you've ever seen for a queer comic book,) retooling Omega Phi, coming up with a proper pitch for BrĂ¼no Gmunder, as well as my non-pornographic projects like Vermin, Chromatology and Duk-Duk Brown. In addition, I try to update the blog at least once a week with new illustrations and figure drawings. And of course there's the ongoing project of web marketing -- getting the sites up to the level where they can make more moolah for me."

Anti-Heroes, Persuasions, and various pieces of your work feature a variety of themes. Do you have a favorite genre to work in?
"No, there is no one favorite. Working in a vairety of different genres, be it sci-fi, fantasy, comedy or melodrama keeps me sane. Whenever i get sick of one, I move on to the other. Also, I'm so influenced by such great media of all genres, I'm always wondering, 'hey how fun would this be if it was gay and porny?!' OH wait, that's it! My favorite genre = Gay Erotica."

JC ETHEREDGE: Sex

Top or Bottom:
"Versatile Top"

Biggest Turn On:
"Scruff. Candidness. B.O. Nipple play. Good Kissers."

Biggest Turn Off:
"Pants down your ass. Non-prescription glasses. Submissive Tops. Bossy Bottoms. Bad kissers."

Who are two celebrities you'd jump into a 3some with?

"Lloyd Banks and Scott Caan. Dude, if I had the two of them, I wouldn't let them leave until we all poked each other in every single position. Ooh, this idea
is turning me on...straight macho actors and rappers as my personal captive sex slaves. "

Does your dick have a name?
" Um...'Big Black Cock?' LOL!
I've never called it anything and I am somewhat mystified by people who do claim they do. If someone ever asked me to call their dick something during a sexual act, I don't think I could keep from cracking the hell up."

What's your fetish?
"As if I haven't mentioned enough of them - HaHa! Um, probably exhibitionism. Bit of a show-off here. I love sexting and public stuff. That gets my motor revving."

When does size matter?
"When you're caught lying about it."
