God bless the French! The incredible Silencio holds nothing back in this month's Q&A with his feelings on the video game industry and the ass-aching details of his thoughts about sex.
SILENCIO: An InsightFavorite Guilty Pleasure:
"I love to annoy my boyfriend by tickling his belly button. He hates that, so torturing my boyfriend is one of my guilty pleasure."
What are you doing when not drawing?
"Playing video gaaaaames! I wish I could visit my friends more often and I like to get drunk too."
Who is your favorite fictional villian?
"Patty Hewes from Damages"
If you could have dinner with 3 dead people, who would they be?
"Jean Paul Sartres, Simone de Beauvoir, and Albert Camus so they could tell me what their books are about. I never read any of them. I'm too lazy to do that, but I still want to show off at dinners."
Which Super Hero is most like you?
"Rogue from the X-Men"
Which Super Villain are you most like?
"Two Faces"
If you had to replace your talent with another one, what would it be?
"Singing. I love to sing in the shower, but I sing very very bad. or Sewing! I would love to participate on Project Runway. :) "

SILENCIO: Art
Who were/are some of your biggest influences on your artistic style?
"Moebius, Dodier, Katsuhiro Otomo, Naoki Urasawa, and Geoff Darrow. They are the artist I admire the most. But I don't think they inspired me so much. I never thought of imitating their style, they are so sacred to me. The Disney animated movies had a lot of influence - mainly the Jungle Book. In the very beginning I try to learn to draw like the Disney artists, but I don't think it shows in my work now."
What project(s) are you currently working on?
"I'm focusing on my mainstream work at the moment. I'm working on a comic series for a quite big US comic publisher and I'm preparing a creator owned series for the same publisher."
What's the word on Dungeon Guards?
"It's a fantasy world. I tried to mix everything I like about video games with what I fantasize bout it. My main goal is to make it a video game, but I think I'll do that once my mainstream work is done. When I have some time, or I'm fed up with my mainstream work, I'm working on a DG artbook."
You work with both American and European companies popular in the industry. What wisdom will you share with us from your success as a comic and video game artist?
"Do always what you want to do. Never compromise with what companies tell you to do. I know it is easier said than done. There are a lot of morons and ignorant people in the video game industry. Actually, this industry is ruled by uncultivated (but smart) people. If you want to keep your personality and style, don't work in video games. If you're interested in drawing and telling stories, work in comics instead. Video game companies are just like marketing companies now. But if video games is what you want to do, make your own video games. It's hard, but you'll learn a lot more."
What tips do you suggest for overcoming blocks in creativity?
"Think of something else. Listen to Music. Go to cinemas. Have Sex"
Is there anything you don't like to draw?
"Unanimated stuff like cars and buildings. And Horses too."
Will you be making any appearances at any upcoming conventions (US or Europe)?
"Maybe. It depends on how well my projects do. But I wish to go to conventions to meet people. With my boyfriend, we're planning on going to San Diego this year."
SILENCIO, everyone! Silencio!
Silencio asked me to correct his English after submitting his responses to my Q&A. I rephrased maybe one or two small statements but left most as was. I personally think there was a beauty to how raw his responses were. I can almost here his French accent as well.
Say this five times with a French accent, "I have a very little anus.." and tell me that's not beautiful!
I want to thank Silencio for not just participating in my Q&A but for being the first open and proud bottom to take on my Q&A.
I've been very lucky to have had the amazing talents participate in my Q&A so far but most of the declines to my Q&A are from guys who don't want to be known as a bottom.
Of course I can rely on the French not to get caught up in such craziness and just be real.
But I want it to be known that there is absolutely nothing emasculating about being a bottom. I personally prefer true bottoms over a guy who presents himself as versatile. I wanna know a guy is gonna take it like a champ! Guys who do take it like a champ should feel proud and be praised!
Hmmm...I think I'm gonna start a holiday, "Bottom's Day!"
Yes. Yes. Yes! I'm gonna start this day. We celebrate moms, dads, and even bosses! I think something is wrong with a society that does not appreciate our studs who bottom. I for one would be a very grumpy man if I didn't have great bottoms in my life.
Ok. So it's done. "Bottom's Day" is gonna be an official holiday in the world of Jezza. When should it be?
I would love to hear suggestions.

SILENCIO: Sex
Top or Bottom?
"Bottom"
What would be the circumstances for you to flip?
"If you ask gently"
Who are two celebrities you'd jump into a 3some with?
"Russell Tovey, Tyler Labine or Seth Rogen"
Do you have a 'Type?'
"Ordinary people. People who look kind and funny"
What's your fetish?
"I'm kind of submissive so a little bit of disciplinary role play is fine"
Sexiest thing a man can wear?
"Undies, especially Fundoshi"
How big is too big?
"I have a very little anus and it frustrates me not to take a whole penis in my ass. So 'too big' is when I can't take it all."
